This unique property is comprised of a series of handcrafted traditional buildings, nestled along a forested gorge near Ubud. The estate offers spectacular river and green belt jungle views. Almost a village unto itself, this villa estate flows from one unique living space to another, each connected by lush tropical gardens with fountains and water features. The black volcanic stone swimming pool is adjacent to the main living pavilion and leads on to the separate traditional bedroom and media room bales.
The main pavilion is a generous space offering a grand day bed dressed in regal fabrics, relaxing chairs, an elegant Java- colonial dining room befitting a private villa and French doors that overlook the forested gorge and the dramatic black-stone, wet-edge pool.
The 7x5m swimming pool has a poolside bale, a perfect place to relax in the armchairs made from up-cycled former Balinese fishing boats.
Inspired by the traditional Balinese Lumbung (rice barn), this very romantic, all-white, three-level bale offers a living room, undercover terrace with day bed and a largely enclosed bathroom opening on to the terrace. Upstairs is a bedroom with spectacular vaulted alang-alang ceiling and overlooked by traditional Balinese carved ‘Bidadari’ angles. Up on the third level, the small loft offers an intimate space to read or meditate, with views over the garden, ponds, fountain and the sacred village beyond.
The gracefully arching roof line of the second bedroom bale takes inspiration from Toroja design. Sitting beyond the pool and palm grove and offering serene gorge views toward distant rice paddies, this elegant, hand-crafted bale is made largely from coconut wood, making it both visually stunning and ecologically sustainable. This approx. 30 sqm bedroom has a unique shower configuration that places the shower-over-bath on the balcony, with a privacy curtain around the bath and blinds on the balcony. The toilet is separate at the rear of the Bale.
The estate also has a separate media, meditation and massage bale, complete with a flat screen TV with surround sound and DVD/CD and a massage bed.
The staff quarters located near the entrance have one bedroom with a bathroom and there is on-site parking for 2 cars.
The Tegalalang rice terrace and central Ubud are 30 minutes away, Gianyar night market is 15 minutes and Pakerisan river is just 5 minutes drive.
Offered fully furnished on freehold title, the property sits on 2,360sqm land with large enough vacant land to further develop according to your needs.
